Give Yourself a Break

Anyone who knows me knows I am a firm believer in HOMEMADE food for optimum health and wellness. My very company name is reflective of the idea that miracles can take place in your life if you just spend some time preparing meals in your own kitchen.

But… sometimes on the occasion where I have been too busy to prepare a meal, or had a hectic day, or I’m just feeling lazy, I do not despair!

There are some great choices out there in the “prepared food category. I’m going to share my finds and favorites from time to time and I hope you can try them all. Again, I treat these occasions as special and fun. Because I know a vast majority of our meals are home cooked I do not feel one bit guilty.

One of my favorites from childhood is the chicken pot pie. Right? The crust, the gravy, and the fact that everyone gets their own, what’s not to love? I have 3 young children (two are 7 years old and one is 8) and I don’t want them to miss out on the chicken pot pie experience. Most often I make it from scratch but sometimes you need this good old comfort food without the work. So I have found a fantastic brand – BLAKES and their website is blakesallnatural.com. Made with mostly organic and healthful ingredients and you can find them in the frozen food section of the grocery store. (Check their website for a store near you.) Another awesome thing is they have the regular version, a gluten free version (cornbread crust), as well as other types like Shepard’s Pie and Mac-n-cheese. They are all so delicious.

So go ahead, give yourself a break and enjoy a night off from cooking. Simple and yummy!
